What we tell to French kids…
“Thursday, the bells of the churches grow wings and fly to Rome for a visit; on their way back, they drop chocolate eggs in the garden, but only if you have been a good boy/girl.”
The legend (in certain Catholic countries and particularly in France) states that they leave for Rome on the evening of Holy Thursday, where the Pope blesses them. On Easter morning, the bells return to ring and announce the joy of Christ's resurrection. In Rome, they load themselves with Easter eggs, which they scatter on their return in the gardens. The children will then look for them.
Now, for adults, what do we eat and drink ?
