The extra ageing in French delivers a powerful and rather richly scented bouquet, no mistaking the inputs of barrel and time with a complex spice and wood smoke quality. Flavours of baked apple and pear, some stone fruit and citrus then follow with equal intensity. A more mature style because of the ageing and wine making style, yet rather delicious and food friendly. Fine lees and some tannins add texture and length. Fruit flavours remain persistent. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2030.
